Smart Home Verbatim Unveils New Range LED lighting, solid-state drives, and Blu-ray are highlights Verbatim launches its latest innovations in storage and lighting at this year’s IFA. These include the wide portfolio of retail and professional LED lighting that the company is launching from September 2011. The range features popular bulbs such as the MR16, PAR16, Classic A and Candlelight. The retail collection is available in blister packaging, which Verbatim says is more popular among retailers. Other new launches include Verbatim’s new generation of solid-state drives (SSDs), which provide data transfer rates of up to 250MB/sec read, and 180MB/sec write, faster system boot up, improved system r e s p o n s i v e n e s s and battery life, as well as shock resistance over HDD-equipped (hard disk drive) systems. These kits include a d e t a i l e d i n s t a l l a t i o n guide in 12 l a n g u a g e s , and a special enclosure for the HDD, which enables it to be used as an external drive once removed from the laptop. Cloning software allows the copying of all data and the operating system to the SSD from the original HDD. The STAT SSD will be available in 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB capacities, and will be available from October 2011. Visitors to the Verbatim stand will get the chance to see the company’s new triple layer BD-R XL Bluray 4x discs. The triple layer technology has been certified by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) and New LED lighting launched by Verbatim Verbatim is planning to go into mass production from Q1, 2012. The first to feature Realtek’s 1185 media player processor, the Playon!HD2 and Playon!HD Mini 2 are the next generation of network media players. Customers can store all media files centrally and securely in the built-in eco-friendly, low-noise, low power-consumption HDD with up to 2TB. Once again, in response to customer demand, Buffalo will be launching a cloud solution this November in partnership with PogoPlug. "The Cloud Station has all of the typical cloud characteristics with the added safety of back up in the cloud on very secure servers," said Arndt.
