The service is available to owners of 3D-capable Sony Bravia LCD TVs immediately after purchase and without registration. The Japanese electronics giant intends to expand its 3D capable Bluray Disc Player and Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System. It has launched initially in five countries: the UK, Germany, France, the US and Canada. With 3D content still expensive for many, the arrival of a free service for Sony televisions has been welcomed by consumers. 3D Experience enables users to view 3D content as soon as they hook up the TV. The service provides instant access to an extensive range of 3D clips and trial content in a wide variety of genres, including movies, music, sports and documentaries. "This free service delivers exclusive content directly to your home via any BRAVIA 3D TV and straight out of the box,” said Edd Uzzell, Sony's European Proposition Development Manager. "We will continue to work with partners to give our customers access to more great 3D entertainment." Manufactured by Chinese c o n s u m e r- t e c h n o l o g y company Haier and Powered by NeuroSky ThinkGear technology, the Haier Cloud Smart TV allows users to interact with their Smart TV using their brain. The Cloud Smart TV interacts with viewers via a NeuroSky’s MindReader headset, which can detect the brainwave patterns that reveal a person’s mental state. The NeuroSky MindReader then translates the monitored brainwaves into digital signals that the television can recognise. The brain-controlled TV applications allow users to develop control over their concentration and relaxation abilities through entertainment applications.
