SPOTLIGHT ON NORTH AMERICA Region The United States at IFA US innovation can be seen everywhere at IFA While emerging economies, BRIC and the Asian giants continue to dominate the headlines, the US remains a consumer electronics superpower, its companies having influence in every corner of the industry. SanDisk is one such company, a market-leader in the flash drive sector and showing at IFA this week, among many products, its Connect Wireless Flash Drive aimed at consumers with the need to store, share and stream media to their iOS or Android powered smart devices. Sound United, parent company to established brands Polk Audio, Definitive Technology and BOOM, is exhibiting at IFA for the first time as part of a drive to expand international distribution. US company iRobot has led the way in robot technology and its co-founder Colin Angle spoke at IFA on Saturday, about how the company’s PackBot and other robots have saved countless lives since their introduction in 2002. On Sunday it was announced that US wireless association CTIA, and IFA, are joining forces in a new global, borderless platform for the mobile, consumer electronics and home appliance industries. And IBM, a multinational that originated in the US over 100 years ago, is at IFA to meet its international client CE companies for which it offers a range of services to ensure their businesses function at the highest level. These are among the vast number of products from the US at IFA that show American innovation and design at its best. ODOYO G-17 AIRPLAY SYSTEM The G-17 Airplay system allows wireless playback from the user’s music library through a speaker unit. The G-17 is a simple-to-use, and simple-to-install device. The manufacturers have given extra attention to ensure slick design. With a maximum output of 102db, the G-17 can handle loud audio with minimal sound disruption. The G-17 is made by Klipsch, one of the oldest speaker brands in the US. The range includes four different designs: Litefolio, Slimedge, Chrome Wallet and Metalsmith. Each is compatible with the Galaxy S4.
