NEWS EDITORIAL Richard Barnes Editor-In-Chief When the Supply Chain Becomes a One Stop Shop This Sunday, IFA Global Markets open their doors for their second edition, at STATION-Berlin, just a short hop from the IFA show grounds. An initiative launched by Messe Berlin last year, in 2017, the separation of “brands” and “OEM/OEMs” is complete, meaning that for the first time, the Funkturm (the main show ground) is dedicated to brands, and STATION- Berlin is totally dedicated to the supply chain. It makes life very much easier for those looking for suppliers or OEM/ODM partners, and this year, it’s completed with a series of conferences, hosted by expert editor Bob Snyder, on the burning issues of the moment, such as “Energy efficiency – legislation and requirements for household appliances in the EU”, “More than reality – VR on every street”, Why eSports is the next big thing”, or a panel discussion on “Challenges in sourcing and distribution”, just to name a few. Added to these conferences, IFA Business Days will give insights on how to enter new markets (i.e. China, Indonesia, Philippines, Korea), and Protecting IP rights. All in all, these conferences, and the growth and concentration of the supply chain at IFA Global Markets make this a veritable “one stop shop”, vastly increasing the efficiency of visits for anyone seeking new partners or wanting to develop and work on new ideas with existing suppliers. The addition of “ISP@Global Markets” (International Supplier Park) by Jan Nintemann – a group stand concept – mirrors the success for over 20 years of Reseller Park at IFA. For a second edition, IFA Global Markets is already proving to be a “not to be missed” part of IFA for a key section of the industry IFA and NAPCO Media Enter Partnership Messe Berlin, the organisers of IFA, have entered into a partnership with NAPCO Media, a US business-to-business media company, with an aim to offer consumer electronics and home appliances brands an unrivalled platform to connect with retailers. The new platform – CT Lab Global Media – combines the world’s most successful tradeshow for consumer electronics and home appliances with a leading producer of multi-channel content and events for retailers of consumer electronics. CT Lab Global Media will give OFFERING ACCESS TO EUROPE, CHINA AND THE AMERICAN MARKET. brands integrated access not only to the world’s biggest tradeshow for consumer electronics and home appliances, but also to NAPCO Media’s deep expertise and focused channel strategy for the US market. For retailers and brands, the partnership offers even more value, as it provides access to both the CE China trade show, an IFA Global event now in its second year, and NAPCO Media’s CE Week, the industry’s official mid-year conference and technology showcase in New York City. “Our partnership truly creates a new platform, which helps industries, brands, channels and retailers to connect in a way that’s not been possible before,” said Jens Heithecker, Executive Director of IFA Berlin. “It’s this integrated approach – offering access to Europe, China and the American market – which brands will find not just compelling, but absolutely necessary to reach both consumers and media.” “We will provide unrivalled value to retailers and brands who consume our content and attend our events,” said Dave Leskusky, President of NAPCO Media. “The IFA and NAPCO Media teams are engaged in strategic planning discussions that will result in innovative new products, research, and enhanced cross channel coverage of the industry that will debut early in 2018” IFA International is a CLEVERDIS Publication • 65 avenue Jules Cantini - Tour Méditerranée – 13006 Marseille, France • Tel: + 33 442 77 46 00 •Fax: + 33 442 77 46 01 • SARL capitalised at e155,750 • VAT FR 95413604471 • RCS Marseille 413 604 471 • • • During IFA: Press Center – Hall 6.3 – Room 201 • Tel: +49(0) 30 3038 81332 • • • Publisher: Gérard Lefebvre • Publishing Director: Jean-Guy Bienfait • Managing Director: Jean-François Pieri • Project Manager: Bettina Badon • Editor-in-Chief: Richard Barnes • Editorial Coordination: Pauline Cazanova • Editorial team: Stuart Braun, Neil Crossley, Andy Fry, Simon King, Julian Newby • Photos: Stéphane Lelarge • Art Director: Hélène Beunat • Design & Page Setting: Guillaume Vinrich • Marketing Manager: Nathalie Meissner • With the participation of: Quentin Ankri, Naila Ben Ghorbal, Melina Maniura, Robin Presthus, Wenchao Wang • To contact them : first name.last • Printing: Möller Druck und Verlag GmbH, Ahrensfelde OT Blumberg, Germany • Cover: © Cleverdis © CLEVERDIS 2017 - Registration of Copyright September 2017 Information presented in this publication is purely indicative in order to illustrate subjects contained therein.
